Branch Visit: SE Middlesex

Katie Cox was the Secretary of South East Middlesex Branch for 24 years and every year the branch holds a lunch in her honour. This year I was invited to attend the event at All Hallows Church Hall in Twickenham, and just like our recruitment drive it was a brilliant day. Joan Tyers, the local Delia Smith, conjured up one of her famous hot lunches – chicken & mushroom pie and cottage pie followed by home-made, heavenly sticky toffee pudding - yum! Thankfully, I think I kept the damage to a minimum by helping with the serving of the food and tea.

After the remains of the lunch were cleared we enjoyed the entertainment provided by David Martin, who presented a range of songs of yesteryear, and we also had a Bring & Buy stall giving us the opportunity to purchase small gifts while replenishing the group funds at the same time.

The South East Middlesex Branch is very active and organises a range of activities, including day trips and holidays, and also has one of the Fellowship’s most proficient visiting services, which is organised at group level.
