Leave us a legacy

Why leave the Civil Service Retirement Fellowship a legacy?

The CSRF does valuable and necessary work brightening the lives of retired Civil Servants, partners, widows and widowers of Civil Servants (our beneficiaries) and offers a lifeline to those in need.

By remembering the CSRF in your will you can ensure that we are there to offer the services and support current and future members need to lead full and rewarding lives in retirement.

Legacies are crucial
Every penny counts and you don't have to be wealthy to make a big difference. Legacies of all sizes play an invaluable role in our work. Just think of the vital difference your gift could make to someone who is feeling lonely, isolated or is struggling to cope.

People have told us about how much the CSRF has meant to them and how they would like to find a way of giving back something to help support the Fellowship’s work and help others. By making a legacy gift you can do this.

If you haven’t yet made a will
If a deceased person has not made a Will, they die ‘intestate’ and their assets are divided up according to the rules of intestacy. Many people assume that everything will go to their partner or children but this is not always the case. If there is no Will it is the Law not the family that decides ‘who gets what’. Furthermore, if there is no one to inherit under the rules the estate may go to the Crown.

The upshot of all this is to highlight the importance of making a Will and, as a kind of ‘by-product’ of this advice, to suggest anyone may wish to consider leaving something to the Fellowship.

You could also consider asking people through your will to donate to the CSRF rather than buying flowers at your funeral?

Please contact us for our legacies guide, which also details advice of how to make a will.
If you would like to have a chat with someone about any aspects of making a will or leaving a legacy we would be very happy to hear from you!
