“FIT FOR FRIENDSHIP”

Due to COVID-19, Nathan will be competing in the Triathlon in 2021 - you can still make a donation to this appeal as all funds we receive go directly to helping our three national charitable services

Through our three national services (outlined below), we provide friendship and support to ensure a better quality of life for those in retirement.

Befriending

Our befriending schemes ensure older people, who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation, are provided with companionship either via home visits or regular phone calls. 82% of beneficiaries feel their quality of life has improved thanks to our befriending services.

Local Groups

Our local community group network provides an essential forum for friendship and companionship across the country. Each individual group runs meetups, trips and activities so the attendees are able to live life to the fullest.

Information & Advice

Signposting is an information service where we use a network of relationships we have built with other organisations to give advice to beneficiaries on a range of subjects through letters, calls and emails. Over 500 requests for information were received and handled in the last 12 months.

Why fundraising matters

We rely on your generosity as we are entirely funded by donations and subscribers and for that reason each year we run a national fundraising appeal with all the funds receiving going to support the delivery of our services.

What is the appeal about?

Our Befriending Services Manager Nathan McLellan will be participating in the Hever Castle Triathlon on Sunday 27th September. He will be doing a 1500m Swim followed by a 40 km Cycle and finishing with a 10 km Run to raise funds to support our services.
