This year's National fundraising appeal is aiming to raise £20k to help support the delivery of an extension to our current befriending services over Christmas 2021. It may seem strange to launch an appeal with a seasonal focus in January but supporting those beneficiaries who might want some friendship sits at the heart of our founding purpose and all the charitable services we provide.

Connect for Christmas Appeal

We currently run two national befriending services that provide contact via the telephone and/or a home visit. The Connect for Christmas initiative will be an extension of these services that specifically aims to offer enhanced contact throughout Christmas 2021. Some people are very happy to be on their own over the Christmas period but there are also many who aren't. We aim to increase the contact between volunteers and those beneficiaries who want it during the festive period this year. This might be through an extra few phone calls, home visit or even, if numbers permit, looking at supporting some local activities.

Why fundraising matters

We rely on your generosity as we are entirely funded by donations and subscribers and for that reason each year we run a national fundraising appeal with all the funds receiving going to support the delivery of our services.
