Support us Fundraise Fundraising activities 2019 Community Appeal Donate Fundraise (Pictured above): We launched the 2019 Appeal last week (28.11.2018) with members of our Liskeard & Pensilva group down in Cornwall. The event was attended by our National Treasurer Jenny Rowe CB (pictured centre right) and Chief Executive David Tickner, who is taking the picture)For over 50 years over local group network has provided an important forum for companionship and friendship within communities around the United Kingdom. Although the volume has reduced considerably in recent years we still have groups in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all run by volunteers who give their time generously to support a wide ranging programme of activities that offer everything from visiting speakers, days out, coffee mornings, theatre trips, walks and the odd session of Bingo or Beetle Drive.Pictured above: Members of our Weston super Mare group at their January coffee morningWhat is the appeal about?Throughout 2019 we will be celebrating the contribution our groups make to their local communities and raising funds to help support them. As part of the fundraising challenge our Chief Executive David Tickner will be visiting over 40 of our groups across the country to promote this initiative and encourage some local fundraising activities. But we'd like to raise £10,000 in 2019 from local fundraising, general donations and corporate contributions and all the funds we raise will go directly to support our existing and future groups.Pictured above: Salisbury Plain group enjoying their January meeting.
