befriending sERVICES

We're delighted to announce that thanks to funding received from the Civil Service Insurance Society Charity Fund, our befriending services are now available to the beneficiaries of The BT Benevolent Fund.

There are two national schemes that you can register for, both of which offer friendship and companionship if you are experiencing loneliness.

The National Visitors Network
Provides home friendship visits on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. All visitors are trained before being matched up and will visit you in your home for a regular friendly chat.

The Phone Buddy Scheme
Provides a regular friendship call by phone. Calls vary in duration and can last between 30 minutes to an hour. 

How to apply
To register for either of the two schemes above you will need to complete a registration form and sign a confidentiality agreement. Once we receive your completed form we will be able to progress your application. 

Please note: we do our best to match all beneficiaries as quickly as we can but there may be a delay if we do not have an available volunteer. If this is the case we will keep you advised of progress throughout the waiting period.
